I've not written a diary in awhile. Been saving mental energy to do my job at work, where at times I was having difficulty concentrating on any task. But things there are improving. In any case, here's a short diary about where things stand on the Arctic sea ice at the approximate summer solstice, which will actually be on Monday 21 June.
As I have done in the past, here's a picture taken yesterday morning at 5:52 a.m. Alaska time from the Barrow AK, arctic sea ice webcam. It was 31°F with east-northeast winds at 15 kt. Note that the snow has melted and the sea ice appears to be ready to go out.
